Your eyebrows say more about you than how much you like using your tweezers. According to facial reading expert Jean Haner, they are signifiers of your self-confidence, assertiveness, logic, organizational abilities, motivation, and how you make decisions. Let's use celebrities to decode what your eyebrows say about you.
1. Short Eyebrows
Shorter eyebrows like Britney Spears's, "are typically a sign of someone who doesn't deal with stress very well," says Haner. "These people usually don't like having to deal with their friend's dramas as well."
2. Long Eyebrows
People with long eyebrows, like Eva Mendes, "tend to deal better with stress and typically have a lot of friends that they don't mind listening to and helping out with their problems," Haner explains. "They're also usually really good workers, can take on big jobs, and can also be competitive."
3. Naturally Thin Arches
"Naturally thin or sparse eyebrows" — think Taylor Swift — "symbolize people who tend to doubt themselves, are unsure, and believe what other people tell them," she says. "They tend to be more cautious, so they live life a little more carefully."
4. Naturally Full Brows
"Thick eyebrows" — like Cara Delevingne's — "signify someone who loves to be active," says Haner. "They're naturally confident, they have a good head on their shoulders, and they can figure things out quickly. Sometimes they can get frustrated easily though if others are holding them back from what they want to do, because they are really good at getting things done."
5. Eyebrows With High Arches
"Brows that are placed high above the eye (these are usually very curved, too)" — like Megan Fox's — "tend to mean that this person isn't as approachable — they're more sensitive and tend to hold back a little bit," explains Haner. "They also need more space and sometimes can be perceived as conceited, but it's really that they take more time to warm up to other people. They also tend to be perfectionists and have really good taste."
6. Arches That Are Low
"Eyebrows that are low (aka very close to the eye), like Lilly Collins, typically tell you that that person is approachable and easy going," Haner says. "They also tend to stick by their promises. There is actually a label for these eyebrows: they're called "Coaches Eyebrows," because these people want to stick by your side until you win."
7. Rounded Eyebrows
"Eyebrows that have a rounded curve" — like Beyoncé's — "usually mean that person is extra kind and thinks about others' needs," says Haner. "They're also tactful in their communications, always want to create a win-win for any situation, and like to be in a relationship — they're not loners."
8. Eyebrows With Little to No Arch
"Eyebrows that go in a straight line" — think Jessica Alba's — "mean these people tend to think logically about decisions," she says. "They're thinkers that value logic — they're usually not super-emotional."
9. Brows That Are Peaked
"Eyebrows that are more peaked" — like Olivia Wilde's — "represent people that like to have fun, think fast, talk fast, make quick decisions, and need stimulation," says Haner. "They're spontaneous, they can also react quickly when it comes to their emotions, and they tend to have a good sense of humor."
10. Eyebrows That Are Thin From Being Over-Plucked
"Since our eyebrows signify our self-confidence, if someone" — say, Pamela Anderson — "overplucks theirs, they can actually reduce their self-confidence and lower their decision-making abilities," explains Haner. "Plucking your brows too thin can also attract people toward you that will walk all over you, because your self-confidence has been lowered."
Here's to any shaped brow but an overplucked one!
